Program Overview

WRA has a long successful tradition of providing safe, compassionate, state of the art, recovery services designed to meet the specific needs of women.  State licensed and certified, WRA has been meeting the needs of women from all over the United States since 1970. WRA understands and values the individual nature of each woman’s recovery.  With this in mind we offer a full continuum of care options to meet individual treatment needs including:

  • Treatment Readiness Groups
  • Intensive Day Outpatient
  • Intensive Evening Outpatient
  • Residential Treatment
  • Continuing Care/Aftercare
  • New Directions/Case Management Care

Co-occurring Disorders

It is common for persons to experience psychiatric or emotional disorders along with addictive processes.  WRA accepts persons with co-occurring disorders including: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, other trauma or abuse, major depression, OCD, and persons dealing with chronic pain.  WRA works with the client to develop an individualized treatment plan in coordination with the client’s medical doctor and/or psychiatrist.  This plan will then provide the structure to guide the client’s treatment experience and will be used to set treatment goals while at WRA.

WRA is committed to excellence in all aspects of service delivery.  The staff at WRA places a strong emphasis on safety, tolerance, and community in order to create a healing environment.  Major research has confirmed that women are more likely to successfully complete treatment if they participate in gender specific programming which addresses their particular needs.  Treatment services at WRA places emphasis in the following areas:

Supportive Housing Services

WRA operates Juniper House, which is a clean and sober transitional living environment for women who have completed primary care and who are ready for independent living. Women living at Juniper must have a job or other daytime activity and the ability to pay the monthly lodger fee.

New Directions /Case Management Services

Women generally arrive at treatment with a wide variety of  health, child care, legal, financial, housing, education, employment issues, requiring assistance.  The New Directions program focuses on helping each client identify her areas of need, access community resources, and supports her re-entry into the community.
