New Directions

Vocational Rehabilitation and Continuing Care
WRA's New Directions Program assists women transitioning out of residential and outpatient treatment. Based on a Case Management model, the New Directions Program focuses on mobilizing community resources to address the secondary effects of addiction. Assistance and individualized counseling is provided on issues related to housing, employment, education, legal problems, child care, and medical needs. New Directions participants have access to our computer resource center which offers internet access, email, typing programs, word processing and printing.

Each woman, together with the program counselor, creates an individualized "recovery road map" guiding her to her goals and providing her with comprehensive referrals and resources including:

  • One-on-one counseling to assess needs
  • Housing referrals
