WRA Pre and Post Treatment
Treatment
Readiness:
WRA provides pre-treatment services to assess, support and assist a client
in entering treatment. The Orientation Group provides information
and orientation about WRA programs, services and general philosophy. A
brief individual assessment is completed for each client at this time.
After attending one
Orientation Group, the client is encouraged to attend the Treatment
Readiness Group. The purpose is to provide support and education
to the client (who may be using her drug of choice) while she awaits a
bed in the residential program. Treatment Readiness Group participation
helps with extended assessment, engagement, support and motivation for
the client regarding treatment. This component offers a harm reduction
treatment model.
Vocational
Rehabilitation and Continuing Care
WRA's New Directions Program assists women transitioning out of residential
and outpatient treatment. Assistance is provided with individualized counseling
and guidance on issues related to housing, employment, education, legal
problems, child care, and medical needs.
Each woman, together
with the program counselor, creates a "recovery road map" guiding
her to her goals and providing her with comprehensive referrals and resources
including access to the internet and general computer access.
Alumni
Association
A network of WRA alumnae work together to create a safe and sober environment
for those currently in WRAs residential treatment program.
As a group, we coordinate
a variety of social and support activities. We organize (fun!) fundraisers,
hold weekly meetings at the residential houses (Laurel, Elms, Juniper
and Hillside), and volunteer to do service. Individually, we set an example,
stay in recovery and KEEP COMING BACK!
