WRA Training and Internship Oppurtunities

The mission of the Womens Recovery Association (WRA) is to assist women, girls and their families in recovering from chemical dependency and its secondary effects. WRA treats the whole woman and facilitates her healing with dignity and respect.

WRA was established in 1970 as a 501c (3) non-profit organization. The agency provides multiple treatment modalities including: Residential treatment for chemically dependent women; residential treatment for dually diagnosed women; outpatient drug and alcohol treatment for chemically dependent and dually diagnosed women; residential treatment for dually diagnosed adolescent girls; and outpatient psychotherapy for women and families affected by addiction.

Interviewing for the Counseling Internship

Program begins in March of 2007.  The Internship year runs from August to August, offering a full twelve months of internship, supervision, and training.

 

Counseling Internship Program
WRA is seeking experienced interns to join us in offering quality therapeutic services through our residential and outpatient addiction treatment programs.

Counselor Internship/Trainee in Practicum

  • 12 month training program
  • 17-24 hours week
  • Individual counseling and treatment planning with 3-5 residential clients
  • Individual client assessments utilizing the Addiction Severity Index (ASI)
  • 1-3 outpatient psychotherapy clients for those with experience and available hours
  • Facilitate 2-3 education and treatment groups weekly
  • Collaborative team work
Intern Training & Educational Opportunities:
  • Weekly case conference meetings
  • Weekly group supervision & individual supervision as needed
  • Two-three hours a month of clinical training seminars with expert presenters
  • Additional training opportunities
