Donate

Your donation makes a big difference for those building new lives of sobriety, self-sufficiency, and community service. WRA’s comprehensive services for those affected by substance abuse are offered on a sliding scale. Your contribution is an investment in the emotional and physical health of women, children and families who have suffered as a result of chemical addiction.

WRA is supported, in part, through funding from the County of San Mateo as well as private foundations, corporations, and individuals. WRA relies on support from the community so that it may continue to help those seeking recovery from substance abuse.

No matter where they live, Donate for Charity can process their vehicle donation. Stock Donations

WRA accepts donations of securities such as stocks, mutual funds, or bonds. You can receive a tax-deduction based on the full fair market value of the securities at the time of your gift and often save capital gains taxes as well (please consult with professional counsel to determine individual deductibility limits). Making a gift of stock is easy. You’ll simply need to convey your instructions to your broker and WRA will receive the proceeds from your stock transfer.

Bequests

A provision in your will for Women’s Recovery Association is a simple way to help support our treatment and recovery programs for women, girls and their families. A Charitable Remainder Trust can allow you to save income taxes and capital gains taxes in the current year, save estate taxes in later years, and receive a guaranteed income for life. You put a portion of your assets into the trust irrevocably, and the trust invests those assets and pays you a calculated amount for the rest of your life. At your death, the trust assets are used for the charitable purposes of supporting WRA’s treatment and recovery programs. A charitable remainder unitrust works especially well for individuals and couples who are 70 years of age or more.  Please contact us for more information about donating vehicles, stock or bequests.

From there, choose your favorite merchant from the Mall at iGive and each time you make a purchase, a contribution will be made to WRA! Or if you download the iGive Shopping Window, you can then access any merchant’s web site directly. If that merchant is participating with iGive, the iGive Shopping Window will appear and WRA will receive a contribution when you purchase your items. When you visit the iGive website, simply enter Women’s Recovery Association in the keyword search under “Find and Select Your Cause.” Then enter some basic information and that’s it! Whenever you shop on-line, go first to iGive or download the iGive Shopping Window and WRA will receive a percentage whenever you shop!

Escrip

Register any one or all of your existing grocery club cards, debit and/or credit cards with Escrip. Then each time you use these cards at a participating merchant, a contribution will be made to WRA! You will need to enter a credit card number to process the Escrip annual application fee. The annual application fee is $10 to support one group, with an additional $5 annual fee for each additional group you choose (up to 3 maximum).

That’s all you’ll need to do! Then each time you use your club, debit or credit cards at participating merchants, WRA will receive a contribution!
