A network of WRA alumni work together to create a safe and sober environment for those currently in WRA’s residential treatment program:
- Organized group of former graduates of WRA that offers ongoing support and involvement in the WRA community
- Executive Committee meets monthly to plan for and implement recovery related activities for women in treatment at WRA, including: pancake/networking breakfasts, bowling trips, 12 step conventions, and a yearly camping trip
- Members of the Alumni Association are a regular presence in the residences and facilitate a monthly chip meeting
- Speaking engagements to assist county prevention efforts such as substance abuse, gang involvement, etc.
We organize (fun!) fundraisers, hold weekly meetings at the residential houses (Laurel, Elms, Juniper and Hillside), and volunteer to do service. Individually, we set an example, stay in recovery and KEEP COMING BACK!
Are you a WRA alumni or recent graduate? Send us an email at wra@womensrecovery.org and let us know where you are and how you are doing. Tell us about your experiences with WRA. Share your stories with us. We want to stay in touch with our extended WRA family – so please keep in touch!
